Strengthening innovation capacities in micro and small companies in the textile and tourism sector in Bogotá and Pereira

TARGET

The general idea of the project is to strengthen the innovation capacities of companies in the textile and clothing sector.

STAGES

It begins in the first stage with a business diagnosis, which is carried out from an interview with the owner or manager, in order to inquire about general aspects of the company, such as:

1. Know the company's trajectory (how it was created, what it does, what the organizational structure is like, what its customers and competition are like, among others)

2. Learn about innovation capabilities (what changes the company has had, how are its processes, what kind of technology is handled, how problems are solved, etc.)

3. Know about the personal and business trajectory of the owner or manager (training, work and business experience)

Likewise, once the interview has been carried out, the aim is to apply a questionnaire to a group of employees in order to know their perception of the capacities that are required to initiate innovation processes in the company, and in this way to determine opportunities to strengthen capacities aimed at generate innovation through a series of workshops and follow-up by the research team.

EXPECTED RESULT

It is expected that at the end of the process the company will know its capacities to innovate and can determine actions to encourage and strengthen innovation in the organization.

BACKGROUND

The research as such is the continuation of a project carried out between 2012 and 2014 in which it was sought to identify and strengthen innovation capacities in women entrepreneurs in some cities of Colombia, a project that was financed by Colciencias and the Nueva Granada Military University . This year, in order to continue the application of the results obtained, we want to implement the diagnosis and workshops in micro and small companies in the textile and clothing sector, due to their contribution to the country's industrial competitiveness framework.
