Our history
The Group of Contemporary Studies in Management and Organizations -GECGO- is the result of the integration of three of the research groups (GECEI, GEEMP and GECONTA) of the Research Center of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, which existed in 2010, in order to consolidate and strengthen the research processes that these three groups were developing.
The group has its most remote origin in 2004 (year of creation of the oldest). However, GECGO implied the confluence of the work of two other research groups, of slightly more recent existence, through a merger in 2010, when the different members of GECEI, GEEMP and GECONTA decided to join forces to consolidate research and generate synergies that allow facing the challenges that the generation of knowledge poses to achieve academic development, innovation, application and transfer. Currently, after a reformulation carried out in 2020, the group defines itself as an interdisciplinary team, concerned with those issues that are contemporary references in the administrative disciplines and management sciences.

The Group of Contemporary Studies in Management and Organizations is an inter and transdisciplinary team that works to generate significant contributions to Colombian society, through research on problems fundamentally associated with administration and management sciences, the generation of proposals , the management of training processes and the promotion of innovation and business development processes.

Group mission
The Group of Contemporary Studies in Management and Organizations -GECGO- is a team of transdisciplinary researchers working around the administrative discipline and management sciences, aimed at the design and development of heterodox, critical and transdisciplinary research projects that contribute to the development of academic programs, training processes, society, organizations, discipline and associated professional practices, through the transfer of knowledge.
Group vision
The Group of Contemporary Studies in Management and Organizations in 2023 will be recognized nationally and internationally for the generation of knowledge and for its particular approach to research problems (through the publication of the results of its various lines of research); by the training products generated in relation to the academic programs to which it is linked; for their participation in networks; and for his experience in the management of technology transfer and innovation processes.
